Pagoda Pump House

The pump house was constructed by the Endicott-Johnson Corporation workers in the 1920s with the scraps from the factories.   In its facade are broken gears,  a fire extinguisher, a bowling pin and at one time a revolver.   It was built around a water well and used to pump water to the steam plant for the factories.  It was built in to look like a pagoda because is is said that C.Fred Johnson, who was in charge of the facilities, just happened to like the style.

but it was such a gloomy day I am pretending again.

The geese have returned from the South - so winter must be over.  

Hope they informed the weatherman.

Spring is in the Air

Love to see the flowers that pop out of the ground in the Spring.

Soldiers and Sailors

 

The Broome County Soldiers and Sailors monument in front of the  Broome County Courthouse was erected by the Soldiers Monumental Association in 1889. The statue is a memorial to the men from Broome County's died in Civil War battles.
